Official Logo and Design Contest Winner Unveiled for the 2017 Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival
World-Famous 47th annual Art & Pumpkin Festival is coming up October 14-15
Organizers of the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival unveiled the winning logo chosen for the 2017 festival designed by this year’s logo contest winner Izumi Kurokawa of Sherman Oaks, CA.
Kurokawa’s winning design was selected from nearly 100 entries submitted from across the country, said Shirley Kellicutt, Pumpkin Festival Logo Design Contest Maven.
“We love this year's playful logo design showing a pumpkin riding a wave – so perfect for Half Moon Bay," said Kellicutt. "The design sets the tone and and is a key step along the way as we prepare to celebrate the big 47th Art & Pumpkin Festival,” she said.
The logo art will adorn all festival apparel, wine and beer glasses, and be the centerpiece of posters and advertising for the 2017 event, widely considered one of America’s best festivals.
For the past eleven years the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival Logo Design Contest has been a beloved and signature feature of the Pumpkin Festival.
While the contest has enjoyed excellent participation over these many years and has received many accolades for the interest and enthusiasm it has generated, the festival committee decided the time was right to take a break from this tradition.
"With great affection and appreciation, we celebrate and honor the contest creator and organizer, the one and only Shirley Kellicutt,” said Cameron Palmer, festival committee Chairman. "We thank Shirley from the bottom of our hearts for her many years of quietly contributing so much to the Pumpkin Festival and our Coastside community!"
The 2017 Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival will take place October 14-15 on historic Main Street. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Admission is free.
